Bahía de las Aguilas: Beach Day Trip by Boat -Day Pass – Snorkeling & Lunch
What To Expect?
Playa de las Aguilas was named after the indigenous eagle. It is famously known as the most beautiful beach of the entire country. The park climate is very arid and the vegetation mainly composed of cacti and other desert plants. The red dirt road that runs along the bay is comparable to an African savanna landscape.
Discover this paradise for fishermen and lovers of white sand beaches and crystal-clear water. But first, travel to the village La Cueva, where local fishermen live inside caves.
Is there anything missing from this picture perfect moment?
The calm sea and light wind will keep you from suffering too much from the sun and heat. Become an explorer for the day and discover an ecological, natural, and totally unspoiled paradise. You can observe more than 130 species of birds, 76 of which live permanently in the bay, 10 are endemic and 47 are migrants.

This is great 10km white sand and crystal clear water beach. It is a 10 minutes boat ride, as it is difficult to drive to it. Given the difficulties to drive to it, is what makes Bahia de las aguilas a very attractive place to visit as it still in its natural state. Looking forward our next visit to this top ranked beach.

Sin ninguna duda de que volvería a este lugar y con este equipo se puede viajar siempre tranquilo.

Bahia de las Aguilas is a great and nice spot. however it is about 5 hours driving from Santo Domingo…. but the view and beach all deserved it… with beautiful crystal clear water. will strongly suggest to take the organized tour that includes food, city tour or barahona..
Yubi T. –
Hermosos lugares para visitar. Wow!

Just go an experience nature. A Beach to yourself.
Great for the family and for a group. If you want to be in contact with nature this is the place to go. Just, take food, a good book, or just a blanket to take a nap. This place is priceless.
Gojan Green –
For starters, the trip must be made for more than 1 day, the road is long and narrow, best if you go with time to spare. you could sleep in nearby towns of Barahona and Pedernales.
There are two ways to go to Bahia form Cabo Rojo, on a boat or on a true off road jeep (avoid town SUVs) or boat, I recommend the later (15 to 20 minutes trip).
There is not much shade so bring your sun block, you can carry refreshments in the boat or order them form the restaurant in the entrance, they will bring you lunch to the beach if you arrange it.
Overall is a beautiful beach and is worth the trip.

We did snorkeling and had a great morning along the beach without seeing anyone. An amazingly beautifull long white sand beach. It’s a national park so no infrastructure. bring along what you need on water, sunscreen and hats (no shade) As most of the beaches on the island can also find plastic there
Cristal Magie –
There’s no doubt, this beach is beautiful. Crystal clear calm water and soft sand, both on the beach and in the ocean. There are some cool rock features on the boat ride over, other than that what distinguishes this beach is that everything is just a drop more pristine than others in the area.
Word of caution: my partner and I decided to travel to Pedernales and this beach using public transport from Santo Domingo. It was more difficult and took more time than we expected. Of note, there are no official taxi cars in Pedernales, just moto taxis (scooters / motorcycles) – might be difficult for anyone traveling with luggage. That said, locals were super helpful. See my review of Eco Del Mar for more info.
Lin María –
Very good tour to the national park. Island is kind of boring.
good service
always service drinks and even provide rain coat when on the boat

I a not kidding.. this is THE BEST beach in whole of DR, and one of the best around the world. Due to distance from the centre it is not that crowded, unless it is a long weekend.
Place boasts pristine, virgin, clean beaches that one can ever imagine. If you are in need for some, quiet, private, beach time.. this is the place for you.
In case you want to stay overnight, there is glamping, just close to the beach, and it is also another great experience.
DONT MISS IT IF YOU ARE IN DR

Republic eco turism. Elsa Tours and our Turist Guide Tayo surprised us again. We traveled from Punta Cana to the capital Santo Domingo and visited the Los Tres Ojos, Ciudad Colonial complete tour, The Ambar Museum, El Panteon de Los Heroes and visit China Town. We eat at an excellent vegetarian restaurant and rested in Ramada Casino Hotel. At 4:00 am we were up and running. When we saw Bahia de Las Aguilas we couldn’t believe it how beautiful it was. We got into the speed boat and enjoy a majestic ride to the Bahia de Las Aguilas. The environment is untouched by human development. The water is Cristal clear and you can open your eyes in the water. Is not that salty as the other ones. No waves yes is true. The water has different shade and the marine life can be seen easily. The fishes swim under your legs. The san is soft and clean. The view is majestic and romantic. Love birds this is the place to say Honey I want to spend the rest of my life with you. We swam all day and stayed in the water all day. No music only nature. I recommend reservations Bahia de Las Aguilas and I will come back soon to camp for two days. You need a permit to stay over night and is safe.

Can’t miss it! This is a place where you can feel heaven on earth. Cristal clear water, warm, white sand, no noice, fantastic snorkeling.
Albert Mejia –
I hesitate to leave this review since the more popular it gets the worse the beach will become, but this place is stunning, the water is crystal clear, and you won’t regret your visit. There were a grand total of about 7 people on the beach when we were there.
Karla Cuevo –
Very calm, very peaceful with the most crystalline clean water beach… is a must inside a natural reserve so no constructions around.
Porfirio Pina –
I spent the weekend at Bahia de las Aguilas Eco del Mar hotel, it was the best weekend ever. Quiet beach to go with your wife or girlfriend and the service at Eco del Mar is 100+ stars

Gracias. El viaje fue hermoso…

This was an incredible place to visit. This was our first time and we could not believe how beautiful. You can do Glamping at the park. This is a glamorous camping experience. We booked a tour that included the boat ride to your private section on the beach and when you return you get a seafood buffet lunch with the works. They give you fish, lobster, shrimp, snail, chicken, salad, tostones, etc.
